Let's talk books!

Have you read at least one MCBA nominee? If so, please join us on Tuesday at 10:00 for a book chat and snack. What's better than readers getting together to share what they have read in front of the fire with something yummy to eat!
This is informal, and we look forward to sharing our favorite (and not so favorite) books.

Ms. Lent's Bulletin Board

Have you seen this in the Kittredge building? How many have you read? (I'm on #13!)

The countdown is on!

E-books!

There are only a few weeks left before the official kick-off of the Bement MCBA program. This year we have added e-books to the collection, and several titles are available electronically. Also, the 6th grade will be participating.
I predict we will also have our first 25 readers; students who challenge themselves and read the entire list of nominated books.
Can't wait for the mad reading to begin!

90 Miles to Havana

I just finished 90 Miles to Havana by Enrique Flore- Galbis. This is wonderful story of courage; Julian flees Cuba in the early 1960s to come to America. It centers around events that many of us don't know much about--revolts, dictators, immigration, and Julian's story is captivating.
This book was recommended to me by Ms. Mullens' class and it has earned a 5-star ranking on Destiny. Read their reviews to learn more!
